2002 ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS – 24 scholarships worth $23,550 were presented to 23 members of the Milan High Class of 2002 during Alumni Day festivities June 15. HAZEL CULVER SCHOLARSHIP – Milan High School principal Tim Warren congratulates scholarship winner Sarai Cantrell. Miss Cantrell received the $2,000 Hazel Culver scholarship, which is awarded to a deserving student planning to attend Jackson State Community College.

CLASS OF ’77 SCHOLARSHIP – Kerry Jay Medlin Taylor (left) and Tom Nelson presented a $1,000 scholarship raised by members of the Class of 1977 to Van “Bubba” Alexander, Jr. in memory of Alexander’s mother Donna Brake Alexander, a member of the class.

MOM PRESENTS SCHOLARSHIP – Cindy Mallard Fuchs presented the Fuchs Family Scholarship to her son, Nathan.

DAUGHTERS PRESENT SCHOLARSHIP – In an emotional moment during the Alumni Day festivities, sisters Tarra Pafford (left) and Shanna Pafford Brigance presented the first Deonza Spain Pafford scholarship to recipient Lindsey Jones. The scholarship is in memory of the women’s mother, the late Deonza Spain Pafford.

PETE EVANS SCHOLARSHIP WINNER Kelly Duncan was congratulated by widow Janie Evans, a former Milan teacher and band leader. The Pete Evans scholarship honors the longtime MHS band director and educator.
