Alumni Day Pictures 2003

SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS 2003 - Graduating seniors from the Milan High class of 2003 won 24 scholarships worth nearly $24,000 from the Milan High School Alumni Association at the June 21 reunion event. Winners were: Ashley Knight, Heather Williford, Carter Robinson, Scott Holmes, Rebekah Robbins, Lindsey Gardner, Emily Glisson, Amy Copley, Mary Ferrell. (Standing) Beth Gravenmier, Tom Sullivan, Autumn Mott, Shae Jones, (Back) Gerome Scott, Hunter Wall, (Back) Matt Canada, Jacob Harwell, Tim Meece, Brandon Spain, and Josh Hall. ANDY HOLT SCHOLARSHIP WINNER Mary Ferrell was congratulated by MHS principal Tim Warren during the Alumni Day event.

REUNION TIME - Members of the Class of 1948 stood during the singing of the Alma Mater.

ALUMNI OFFICERS 2003-04 - Elected on Alumni Day to serve as MHSAA officers for 2003-04 were (from left) vice-president Cindy McCartney Milligan (Class of 1980), secretary Marcelle Stevens Moore (Class of 1960), president Debbie Ownby McManus (Class of 1979), and associate secretary Julia Davis Robinson (Class of 1987). Not pictured is treasurer Debra Mallard Buchner (Class of 1972).

30th ANNIVERSARY - Members of the Class of 1973 sat together in the gym during the alumni business meeting. The group observed their 30th reunion in 2003. 

SCHOOL DIRECTOR Jim Towater, a 1964 graduate, spoke during the Alumni Day business meeting, saying that the Bulldog spirit and tradition remains strong for today's Milan students. Milan schools have ranked among the state's best in academic performance in recent years.

FRUGAL GOURMETS - Being good stewards of the alumni fund - your dues and contributions - is important to the MHSAA executive board. OLD SCHOOL – Milan alums Robert Denney (left) and Billy Gardner shook hands in the school cafeteria on Alumni Day. Denney, Class of 1936, was the oldest graduate attending the 2003 reunion. 

NOSTALGIA TIME - Teresa Henson Rudd, a 1973 graduate, and husband David of Jackson checked out scrapbook items from days gone by on a bulletin board display during the Alumni Day reunion June 21.  An estimated 475 people attended this year’s event.
