Approximately $24,000 in college scholarships was awarded by MHSAA to the Class of 2003 graduating seniors from Milan High on Alumni Day 2003. 24 scholarships were awarded.
The alumni organization funds 12 scholarships, each valued at $750 honoring educators or volunteers to the alumni organization. This years winners were: Norris Hassell Scholarship Emily Glisson, Andrew Holt Scholarship Mary Ferrell, Edith Holt Scholarship Heather Williford, Ralph Holt Scholarship Rebekah Robbins, Lurla B. Daniels Keith Scholarship Ashley Knight, Milton Mayo Scholarship Beth Gravenmier, Johnnie Hale Metcalf Scholarship Tom Sullivan, Marcelle Stevens Moore Scholarship Autumn Mott, Lamar Pittman Scholarship Brandon Spain, Laura Rushing Stewart Scholarship Lindsey Gardner, J. W. Thomas Scholarship Gerome Scott, and Wylie Wheeler Scholarship Korie McNabb.
12 privately funded scholarships were awarded, this year worth $14,200. These scholarships honor donors or loved ones. The Jeff Hopper Memorial Scholarship, honoring a former Mr. Milan High School and standout athlete who died in a car accident, was increased this year from $2,000 to $2,500. The Class of 1966 presented its first scholarship valued at $500 to winner Matt Canada. Linda Stone Carter made the presentation.
