2008 - Lewis Baird

Nancy and Lewis

Lewis has been the official Alumni Day reunion photographer for 30 years. Lewis says “ No one has had as much fun as I have had seeing old friends and classmates every year”!


2007 - Glenda Houston Hughes
and Lacee Jacobs Mallard

Lacee, Buddy and Glenda

Glenda and Lacee have been lifelong friends.  Both were borned at the Milan Hospital, same month in 1949. They were both educators, rising to the position of Principal in the Milan System. Both serve on the Alumni Administrative Board.


2006 - Brint and Olga Balko Mallard

Olga Balko Mallard, Hugh Allan Carter and Brint Mallard

Brint and Olga have spent a large part of their lifetime associated with the Milan School system. Brint attended Milan schools all 12 years while Olga attended 8 years after moving here from Germany.  After college educations, they both taught in the system 30 years.


2005 - Stephen Taylor Short, Class of 1970

A journalist for the Milan Mirror Exchange, Steve has written numerous articles about Alumni Day activities and profiles of Honorees for the Alumni program. Steve teamed with Sarah Robbins and Leon Smith to create the alumni website (www.milanalumni.org).


2004 - Bobbie Sue Pratt Priddy

  Will Priddy inspected the award presented to his grandmother Bobbie Pratt Priddy (right) during the 2004 Alumni Day program. Mrs. Priddy (Class of '54) was the alumni association honoree. In the center is Bob Priddy, Will’s father and son of Bobbie Priddy.   


        2003 - Rex Tatum  

Rex Tatum (Class of '53) was presented a plaque of appreciation from the Milan High Alumni Association by president Lisa Springer. Tatum was lauded for his dedication and positive influence as a teacher and coach. Now retired after a career in the construction industry, he has been an active volunteer with the alumni organization since 1961.

Mary Moore Collins & Liz Keaton Ownby

Ruth Shoaf, MHSAA president 2001-02, presented plaques of appreciation to 2002 honorees, Mary Moore Collins (Class of '62) and Liz Keaton Ownby (Class of '59) (right). Collins and Ownby have served as volunteers for many years at the Alumni Day festivities.

1984 Cindy Pickard Russell memorial scholarship established.

1983 Lurla B. Daniels Keith

1982 Carol Smith
A standout basketball star for the Lady Bulldogs and at Alabama, Ms. Smith was recognized as the first MHS female athlete to earn All-American status.

1981 J.W. Thomas and Harry Pillow
The J.W. Thomas scholarship was established to honor the former educator. A one-time scholarship was given in memory of Harry Pillow by his family. Mr. Pillow, an All-State, multi-sport athlete and Milan graduate, was killed in combat during World War II.

1970 Dr. Andy D. Holt
A scholarship was established and sign erected near the city limits honoring Mr. Holt, MHS graduate and former President, University of Tennessee.

1978 Dolores Archie honored as the Teacher of the Year.

1975 Ms. Irene Holt and Edith Holt scholarships established.

1969 Lamar Pittman

A scholarship had been established in Mr. Pittman's honor in 1957. A standout athlete as a Milan student, Mr. Pittman became principal, administrator and a successful coach of football and basketball at Milan High School.

1968 Dr. Shelton L. Beatty
A member of the Class of 1919, Mr. Beatty was the featured speaker for Alumni Day.

1967 J. W. Thomas
A former Milan principal and superintendent, Mr. Thomas was honored on his retirement from Milan schools.

1966 Ms. Annie Moore

1961 Charles D. Turner
A memoriam was established by the Class of 1906.
