Headquarters for Milan High School Alumni Association

The Lurla B. Daniels Keith Alumni Room

The headquarters for the Milan High School Alumni Association was dedicated in 1999 and named in honor of one of the organization's most devoted members - Lurla B. Daniels Keith. Mrs. Keith served as secretary of the MHSAA for approximately thirty-four years, from 1958 until 1992.

Selected valedictorian of her Milan High School class of 1932, Lurla B. Daniels Keith later taught school in Gibson Co. for thirty-five years.

She served as president of the alumni association in 1965-66. But it was "Miss Lurla B's" tireless service as MHSAA secretary for over three decades that proved essential to the success of the association's annual reunions.

Lurla B. personally compiled and updated names and addresses of over 5,000 graduates from 1894 onward. For years, Mrs. Keith collected boxes of school documents and photographs and stored them in her home. She eventually saw the need for an alumni office, and the our headquarters at Milan High School is named in her honor.

Mrs. Keith died May 20, 2006.
